Gathering celebrates spirit, memories of Camino for pilgrims

Vincentian Father Chris Robinson hosts a Mass and gathering on July 24, 2026, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 708 W. Belmont Ave., for those who have done the Camino de Santiago in Spain. The Mass took place on the eve of St. James, the apostle who is the patron of the pilgrimage and whose tomb and shrine mark the end of the pilgrimage in Santiago. Our Lady of Fatima Church hosts 126th novena to St. Anne

Worshippers fill Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2751 W. 38th Place, for a Mass in Spanish to celebrate the feast of St. Anne, Mary's mother, on July 26, 2026. The church is home to the shrine of St. Anne and an annual novena that has been prayed for 126 years. Little Village parish consecrates neighborhood with five processions

Father Tom Boharic, pastor, Mother of the Americas Parish, leads a Eucharistic procession through the streets of Little Village on July 17, 2026, to consecrate the neighborhood to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The procession of 45 people stopped at altars outside the homes of six parishioners to consecrate the homes and streets to Jesus. This was the fifth week the parish held a procession and consecration following Mass on Friday nights. The consecration was in response to the U.S. bishops consecrating the country to the Sacred Heart for the 250th anniversary nation's founding and asking parishes to do the same. Our Lady of Mount Carmel procession draws hundreds of Italian families

The procession, which included over 40 groups and families, was one of the final events in the 133rd commemoration of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel novena and feast day celebration at the parish. National shrine celebrates Mother Cabrini’s birthday, canonization anniversary

Augustinian Bishop Daniel Turley was the main celebrant for a Mass at The National Shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood on July 12, 2026. The shrine celebrated the 80th anniversary of the canonization of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini with a weekend of prayer, music, speakers, cultural festivities and fellowship that weekend. The celebration will also commemorate what would have been her 176th birthday. More commonly known as Mother Cabrini, she was canonized on July 7, 1946, and became the first United States citizen to be declared a saint by the Catholic Church. Mission trips bring youth closer to Christ through service

Teenagers from around the Archdiocese of Chicago spend time every summer getting away from home, not for rest and relaxation, but to help people in need and to focus on their relationship with Christ at the same time. Youth ministers who have led such trips say they see the transformation in the young people they bring over just a few days, both as leaders on their service projects and in their faith.
